Divided by Unity

0

Shortly after President Joe Biden was sworn in on January 20th, 2021, he signed three executive orders that served as an initial slap in the face to the 50% of Americans that didn’t vote for him. If he is trying to unify America by demonstrating some bipartisanship, he’s getting off to a rocky start.

Mask Mandate

Biden’s first executive order mandates that masks be worn on federal property. Masks are a polarizing issue. We presented some information about the effectiveness of masks in an earlier article. As we noted there, masks are marginally effective. COVID-19 is transmitted via droplets that can go directly through the pores of fabric masks. The droplets that are suspended in the air that is diverted to gaps between the mask and the wearer’s face still make it outside the mask and into the ambient air. The media have politicized COVID-19 to absolute death. As with all political issues, all leftists agree with each other and need no evidence other than the agreement with others on the left.

Other than the fact that conflicting information is out there about masks, my biggest problem with this order is the idea that the federal government can command me to put something on my face. I understand that many governors have already mandated masks in their respective states. I disagree with that too. We as free people should be able to make up our own minds about what we do with our faces. Biden’s first executive order is symbolic because it isn’t some benign policy that won’t matter to most Americans. In signing it, Biden reaches the hand of the federal government into the life of every person in America and demands obedience. If this was meant to set the tone for the next four years, those who value freedom should be alarmed.

Increasing Support for Underserved Communities

The second executive order is as bad as the first. Does “Increasing Support for Underserved Communities” sound like a vague, mushy, reappropriation of tax dollars into the hands of those he knows he can keep voting democrat? If so, it’s probably because that’s exactly what it means. Expect piles of pork-filled bills under similar nondescript names to be rushed into the halls of congress and voted on before anyone could possibly read them. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will ensure the American voters that their tax dollars are being put to good use much as they did in late 2020 when they tried to spend “$7 million for reef fish management, $25 billion to combat Asian carp, $2.5 million to count the number of amberjack fish in the Gulf of Mexico… $3 million in poultry production technology, $2 million to research the impact of down trees, $566 million for construction projects at the FBI.” – Donald Trump.

See the video below of Biden signing this “Increasing Support for Underserved Communities” order along with the others. He attempts to explain this one, but it’s clear that he doesn’t really even know what it means.

Biden promises to be the most progressive president in US history.

Rejoining the Paris Accord

The third executive order is a resounding message to the international community that America First is over as far as Biden is concerned. America is back to being a mere subject of the United Nations overlords, and the immediate sprint back into the Paris Climate Accord is an affirmation of Biden’s allegiance to the UN. Biden has been a plagiarist all of his political career and his presidency will be no exception. He will sell any and every UN policy to the American people, no matter the costs to our liberties, our national security, and our financial well-being. Biden and his supporters likely wish that we were closer to Europe so that it would be more palatable for us to join the European Union.

Leftism Incoming

Biden has promised to be the most progressive president in U.S. history. We have no choice but to believe him if his first three executive orders are any indication of his intent moving forward. On the horizon are more social justice policies, more inert-sounding financial policies that will cost Americans for generations, and more free gifts to other countries, just because. Not to mention the ongoing assaults on the first and second amendments. Stay tuned, we will keep you posted.
